With New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern choosing to step down from a successful premiership, we take a look at her actions, her legacy and if anyone is able to take her place. The NHS in the last decade has arguably undergone some of the worst crises in its history. The need for reform is clear. So how can healthcare in Britain be reinvented for the future, and what needs to be implemented to make this a possibility? Huge waves of public sector strikes in recent months from the likes of nurses, paramedics, teachers and postal workers have put into question the government’s lack of substantial response to mitigate the cost of living crisis Britain faces. But how deep does this crisis go, and where did it come from? The dramatic revelations in Prince Harry’s new autobiography have undoubtedly caused a stir in the royal family as well as throughout wider media discourse, but how much of a distraction is it from more pressing concerns? With the UCU strikes on this week, many are wondering how the government has let things get this far, and why educational institutions still don’t provide the pay and conditions staff need. When becoming PM, Rishi Sunak promised a shake-up of the Cabinet and the Tories. To be a clean break from the past with new talent. Upon closer inspection, there are few fresh faces, and the scandals are mounting. Want to write an article for YPR? Simply choose a topic here, DM or email us with your piece and we’ll publish!
