Huge waves of public sector strikes in recent months from the likes of nurses, paramedics, teachers and postal workers have put into question the government’s lack of substantial response to mitigate the cost of living crisis Britain faces. But how deep does this crisis go, and where did it come from? The dramatic revelations in Prince Harry’s new autobiography have undoubtedly caused a stir in the royal family as well as throughout wider media discourse, but how much of a distraction is it from more pressing concerns? But why is this dangerous to platforms of speech and why does it mark an increasingly authoritarian dominance?
